Fall Around Town - What to do in Algona!
As the seasons change, so do our plans to bring you an unparalleled shopping experience filled with excitement, connection and incredible savings. These are some of our favorite ways to spend a day in Kossuth County during October and November.
Band Day
Come see, listen and enjoy 100+ floats, vehicles, and 15 school marching bands, on Saturday, September 30, 2023 for the annual Band Day parade and field competition. We are especially excited this year to celebrate the 75th anniversary of this popular Algona tradition! Special activities have been planned for this year’s celebration including a float contest, alumni band, food trucks, and fireworks!
Bloom loves Band Day and especially Kelsey! She played
saxophone and marched all through Junior High and High School. Her favorite part was (and still is) the field show. Her kids favorite part is the Doughnut-Mobile :)
Small Town Scramble
Embark on a shopping adventure through several beautiful towns in Northern Iowa! October 5th, 6th & 7th, join us for the Small-Town Scramble Fall Event! Stop at any participating store and get your punch card. Get 10 stamps and turn your card in at your last stop for your chance to win one of our giveaways. Moonlight Madness
This fun event is October 19th. Downtown Algona shops stay open late and offer super savings before the busy holiday season. Bloom is offering a Progressive Sale from 4 - 8 pm. 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% off select fall faux stems and decor through the late night shopping hours. The later it gets, the more you save! Be sure to shop around and enter to win some door prizes from the Chamber of Commerce.
AutumnFest Craft Show
The 31st Annual Autumnfest Craft and Vendor Show is a long-standing shopping tradition in Algona on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 9 - 4 pm. There are 80+ booths full of quality handmade, handcrafted, and unique crafts. This year’s craft show will once again be in one convenient location of the Algona High School commons and gymnasium as well as the Algona Middle School commons. We craft for a living, and let us tell you; these craft vendors are seriously talented!

To kick off the Winter shopping season, Bloom Floral's Open House will be

Live Greeting Cards Nov 27th
A long-standing area tradition, this is a fun night in Algona held the Monday after Thanksgiving every year. Various businesses and groups stage different holiday scenes and interactive displays in windows and shops throughout the downtown area. You never know what you'll see... the Grinch, present wrapping, class Christmas films reenacted or cookie decorating. You'll definitely see Santa Clause, dancers, enjoy hot chocolate and treats, and even a horse drawn carriage ride! What fun activity do you think the Bloom designers will think of this year?
